By using the Site, you consent to the practices described here.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please stop using the Site.

  • Payment information (processed by Stripe and/or PayPal — we do NOT store full card numbers on our servers)
  • Account credentials (username, hashed password)
  • Order history
  • Email preferences (newsletter subscription, marketing opt-ins)
  • Customer support messages and any information you submit via contact forms, reviews, or chat
  • Any information you choose to include in product reviews, testimonials, or user-generated content

b. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Browser type, operating system, and device identifiers
  • Referring URL and the pages you view on the Site
  • Date/time of your visit, session duration, and click behavior
  • Cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy for the full list)

c. Information from Third Parties

  • Fraud-prevention and identity-verification data from our payment processors (Stripe, PayPal)
  • Analytics and advertising data from Google Analytics, Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, and similar platforms
  • Shipping and delivery updates from carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)
  • Affiliate-program data from networks and merchants whose products we promote (see Section 8)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process, fulfill, and deliver your orders
  • Communicate with you about your order, account, or support request
  • Send marketing emails and promotions you have opted into (you may unsubscribe at any time)
  • Operate, maintain, improve, and secure the Site
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Personalize the Site experience and the content you see
  • Measure and analyze the performance of our marketing and content
  • Comply with legal obligations, tax requirements, and enforce our Terms of Service
  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims

4. Legal Bases (For EU/UK/EEA Visitors)

If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or European Economic Area, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR/UK GDPR:

  • Contract: to process your orders and provide the services you request
  • Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, and improve the Site; to prevent fraud; to conduct analytics
  • Consent: for marketing emails, non-essential cookies, and any other processing that requires it (you can withdraw consent at any time)
  • Legal obligation: to meet tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements

5. How We Share Your Information

We do NOT sell your personal information for money. We share information only as needed to operate the Site:

a. Service Providers and Processors

We use trusted third parties who process data on our behalf under contract, including:

  • Payment processors: Stripe, PayPal
  • Email marketing: Mailchimp
  • Analytics: Google Analytics
  • Advertising/retargeting: Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel and, where applicable, Google Ads
  • Hosting and infrastructure: our web host, Cloudflare (CDN/security)
  • Shipping carriers: USPS, UPS, FedEx, and similar
  • Customer support and fraud tools

b. Affiliate and Third-Party Merchants

When you click an affiliate link and purchase a product from a third-party merchant, the merchant (not SaltyFuelShop) becomes the data controller for that transaction. Their privacy policy governs the data they collect. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

c. Legal and Safety Disclosures

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order; to enforce our Terms; to investigate fraud; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SaltyFuelShop, our customers, or the public.

d. Business Transfers

If SaltyFuelShop is acquired, merged, or sold, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you and update this Privacy Policy.

e. With Your Consent

Any other sharing happens only with your explicit consent.

6. “Sale” and “Sharing” for Targeted Advertising

Some privacy laws (notably California’s CCPA/CPRA) treat the use of advertising cookies and pixels — such as the Meta Pixel and Google Ads — as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, even though no money changes hands.

You have the right to opt out of this activity. See Section 10 (“Your Rights”) for how to exercise that right.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Site uses cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. For the full list, including a description of each tool and how to opt out, please read our Cookie Policy.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and through any consent banner we may display. Disabling cookies may affect your experience on the Site.

8. Affiliate Links and Third-Party Product Pages

The Site includes affiliate links and content about products sold by third-party merchants (for example, Health Ranger Store, TWC Health, and others).

When you click an affiliate link:

  • You leave the Site and are taken to the third-party merchant’s website
  • That merchant (and any affiliate network in between) may set cookies and collect information about your visit and any purchase
  • Their privacy policies — not ours — govern that activity
  • We may receive a report or commission tied to your purchase (typically an anonymized order ID, not your personal details)

For a full explanation of our affiliate relationships, see our Affiliate Disclosure page.

9. Data Retention

We keep your personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law.

  • Order and transaction records: retained for at least 7 years to meet tax and accounting requirements
  • Account information: retained while your account is active; deleted on request (subject to legal holds)
  • Email marketing data: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
  • Website analytics data: retained for up to 26 months (Google Analytics default), or less if configured

When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

10. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to know what personal information we have collected about you
  • Right to access a copy of your personal information
  • Right to correct inaccurate information
  • Right to delete your personal information (subject to legal exceptions)
  • Right to opt out of marketing emails (unsubscribe link in every email)
  • Right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising (CCPA/CPRA)
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to withdraw consent (EU/UK/EEA)
  • Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (EU/UK/EEA)

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@saltyfuelshop.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will verify your identity before acting on the request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically 30-45 days).

You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

11. California Residents — CCPA/CPRA Notice

In the past 12 months, we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 2. We disclose those categories to the service providers and partners listed in Section 5 for the business purposes described in Section 3.

California residents have the rights listed in Section 10, including the right to:

  • Know, access, correct, and delete personal information
  • Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information

You may exercise these rights by emailing support@saltyfuelshop.com. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted under CCPA/CPRA.

12. “Do Not Track” Signals and Global Privacy Control

The Site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals. We do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of “sale”/”sharing” where technically feasible.

13. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information — including TLS/HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls, and vetted third-party payment processors.

No system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of any data transmitted to or from the Site.

15. International Data Transfers

SaltyFuelShop is based in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the U.S. or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

16. Third-Party Links

The Site may link to third-party websites, affiliate merchants, social media platforms, and advertisements. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy. The “Effective Date” at the top indicates the latest revision.

For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, by email or a Site banner).

18. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict of laws principles, except where overridden by applicable law in your jurisdiction (such as CCPA/CPRA or GDPR).
